Concealers are used for hiding skin flaws like dark circles under the eyes, acne scars and broken capillaries.  A concealer is applied only to a small area of  the skin. For women with oily skin, the concealer helps keep the makeup in place.

For dry skin, liquid concealer (available in the form of bottles and tubes) is to be used. Concealer sticks and powders are available for oily skin, which absorb some of  the oil produced. The concealer should match the skin color or be slightly lighter .

The concealer can be applied directly using fingers or using a makeup brush or sponge. To be most effective, it should be dabbed on the blemishes, not rubbed in. Some women also apply a concealer to the eyelids
