Makeup should be removed at night before going to sleep, to prevent damage to the skin. The procedure for removing makeup depends on the amount and type of makeup that has been applied. If eye makeup has been used, a special eye makeup remover should be used, since skin around the eyes is delicate. If only light makeup like moisturizer and lip gloss has been used, a cleanser and water should be sufficient for removing the makeup. If more makeup has been used like foundation, blush and lipstick, two different cleansers or a combination of a cleanser and an oil may be required. After applying the cleanser, it is wiped off with a soft tissue, cotton wool or baby wipe. This procedure has to be repeated multiple times, till the face is clear of makeup.
After cleaning the entire face, the lipstick should be removed applying vaseline and then wiping it off. A specialized eye makeup remover is applied with a cloth to the eyes to remove eye makeup. Petroleum jelly or baby oil can also be used to remove eye makeup, but the skin should be rinsed to prevent rashes..
Most makeup removers like baby oil contain mineral oil. Olive oil and almond oil can also be used for removing makeup for dry skin. Raw milk is cheap and effective makeup remover for persons with oily skin. Makeup remover cloths, which contain some moisture are also available. These cloths are disposable and compact in size.
After all the makeup and makeup removers have been removed, wash the face with a foaming soap or use a cleanser to unclog the pores. |
